Meet Lisa Grittini, LLMSW
Therapist
Every human being has the capability to overcome life’s challenges and barriers through the power of resiliency. When we get stuck in a rut feeling anxious, stressed, and depressed, we can forget how strong and courageous we truly are.
I already admire your bravery and willingness to seek help and believe it will guide you down the path of self-growth and transformation. In our work together, my goal is to help you identify and build upon your innate strengths to facilitate your healing journey.
It is my deepest intention to create a trusting relationship at a pace which feels comfortable for you where you feel seen, heard, and validated in sharing your experiences. In a collaborative effort, we will work on an individualized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs while honoring your personal values and beliefs.
In order to reach your goals, we will explore coping tools and utilize evidence-based strategies to help you manage symptoms of mental health and navigate day-to-day stressors. The inner work you choose to do will help you build a meaningful and fulfilling life with a renewed sense of purpose.

Why did you choose to become a therapist?
I decided to become a therapist after battling anxiety and depression throughout middle school and high school without much of a support system. I know firsthand what it feels like to suffer silently, be misunderstood by others, and have no one to turn to. Surviving my personal experiences with mental health on my own taught me that it shouldn't be something people have to conquer alone.
Once I reached out to my first therapist at 18 years old, it was life-changing and for the first time in my life, I truly felt safe to share my experiences and process my emotions with the guidance of someone who understood me.
How would you describe your therapeutic style in a few words?
My therapeutic style is warm, inviting, and accepting. My approach is to create a safe, nurturing environment where my client can freely speak about their inner experiences at their own pace. I respect that it may take time for newcomers to open up in therapy and admire their bravery for showing up in the first place.
I always strive to meet the client where they are at on their healing journey and offer guidance and support as I walk alongside them. Healing is a process that cannot be rushed or forced and requires an approach that is rooted in patience, grace, and compassion for the client.
What do you believe makes healing possible?
What makes me believe that healing is possible is reflecting on my past experiences working with homeless and at-risk youth and adults diagnosed as SMI. Working with these populations, I learned no matter what roadblocks, hardships, or traumas people endured there was nothing they could not overcome. Witnessing their sheer resiliency and ability to bounce back from the worst imaginable experiences, taught me that healing is universal and available to every human being.
What do you most want clients to feel when they are in the room with you?
When clients are in the room with me, I want them to feel that I am fully present with them and attuned to their needs. I want them to feel seen, heard, and validated without judgment throughout the therapeutic process. My goal is to create a professional relationship built upon trust and mutual respect where the client can communicate honestly about any feelings of discomfort or adjustments that need to be made along the way. My ultimate hope is that my clients leave our sessions feeling uplifted and more hopeful about life than they did when they walked in.
How do you recharge?
In my spare time when I need to recharge, I rely on meditative practices, walks in nature, acupuncture, and massage. I am a firm believer that self-care is crucial in order to provide the best quality of care for my clients. I emphasize the use of self-care and self-compassion in my sessions with clients and make it a point to practice what I preach.
I use meditation and breathwork to listen to my body's needs, use nature walks to ground myself, and holistic healing modalities to address any physical and emotional tension. I also find myself reaching out to family and friends to decompress with quality time and snuggling up to my dog when I need some extra love and emotional support.
