Meet Karly Poole, LLMSW
Therapist | Specializing in Adolescent & Young Adult Mental Health
Karly is a dedicated mental health therapist at The Healing Approach who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions.
With a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, Karly is passionate about helping young people feel seen, supported, and empowered in every stage of their healing journey.
Since beginning her clinical work in 2021, Karly has provided community-based therapy to youth and families across Livingston County through Community Mental Health in Howell.
Her experience working closely with clients in their homes and schools has given her a deep understanding of the complex challenges teens and families face today, and how to meet them where they are on their individual journey.
Karly is trained in several leading therapeutic modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused CBT), and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). She also has significant experience working with children and adolescents with autism.
She tailors each session to the individual needs of her clients, offering practical tools and emotional support to help them build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and gain confidence in their ability to cope with life’s challenges.
Karly is currently accepting new clients for therapy appointments in-person and virtually, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Some insurance is accepted.
Available Now: EMDR Therapy for Children, Teens, & Young Adults!
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a gentle, evidence-based therapy that helps young people heal from trauma, anxiety, and overwhelming experiences. Through guided eye movements and structured support, EMDR helps the brain "reprocess" difficult memories, reducing emotional distress and building resilience.
Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, grief, bullying, or past trauma, EMDR can be a powerful path toward emotional healing and growth.
Karly is currently accepting new clients for EMDR therapy appointments, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
“My work has always centered on creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow.”
At the heart of Karly’s work is a deep belief that therapy should be a safe space, where individuals are met with empathy, professionalism, and evidence-based care.
Whether it’s a teen struggling with school-related stress, a young adult facing overwhelming emotions, or a parent seeking guidance for their child, Karly works collaboratively to create a path forward that feels both manageable and meaningful.
